Hyatt's Latin America free-night offer: register by September 30, 2026, stay 3 nights at participating Latin America or Caribbean resorts between January 1 and March 31, 2027, and earn a Category 1-4 Free Night Award — up to 5. No credit card required. Award redemptions count toward earning; points nights aren't named in the terms. Pick a new-to-you brand and the same stay ticks Hyatt's Brand Explorer counter too. Every free night expires June 30, 2027.
The short version: Hyatt is handing out free nights for winter trips people are already planning. Register by September 30, 2026, stay 3 nights at a participating Latin America or Caribbean resort between January 1 and March 31, 2027, and Hyatt gives you one Category 1-4 Free Night Award. It repeats up to 5 free nights for 15 stayed nights. Registration is free, the promotion stacks on top of whatever rate you booked, and award redemptions count toward earning. The assignment hiding in the fine print: every free night you earn expires June 30, 2027. All dates and quotes below come from Hyatt's own offer page, read August 19, 2026.
| The offer | The dates |
|---|---|
| Register (free, one click) | August 3 - September 30, 2026 |
| Stay window | January 1 - March 31, 2027 |
| Earn rate | 1 Category 1-4 Free Night Award per 3 eligible nights |
| Maximum | 5 Free Night Awards (15 nights stayed) |
| Awards post | 2 to 3 weeks after checkout |
| Awards expire | June 30, 2027 |
The mechanics are simple: register first (nights before registration don't count), stay at resorts on Hyatt's participating list, and give your World of Hyatt number at booking or before checkout. Not a member? Joining is free, then register.
If you already have a Cancún, Punta Cana, Costa Rica, or Cabo trip sketched for early 2027, this is free money: register now, point the booking at a participating Hyatt property, and a normal 6-night vacation comes back with two extra free nights attached. A 3-night long weekend earns one.
If you weren't planning a trip, the math is thinner. Three nights at a beach resort in high season is real money out of pocket, and a Category 1-4 award is worth a few hundred dollars, not a few thousand. Register anyway since it costs nothing, but book the trip because you want the trip.
One more thing this offer does not require: a credit card. The terms ask for a World of Hyatt membership in good standing and a registration click, both free. The card conversation is a separate, optional layer (more on that below).
This is the question that decides how cheap the free nights can get, so here is Hyatt's own definition, verbatim:
"For the purpose of this promotion, an 'Eligible Night' is defined as any night where a member is paying an Eligible Rate or redeems a free night award."
Two things follow from that sentence:
We flagged the same pattern in Hyatt's Brand Explorer promotion, where the terms and the marketing page disagreed about points stays. The safe read is always the terms.
Category 1-4 is the affordable half of Hyatt's 8-category award chart. Per our World of Hyatt guide, Category 1 nights start at 3,500 points, and Category 4 ran 12,000 to 18,000 points a night under the chart in effect through May 19, 2026 (the current five-tier chart prices some nights above that range). At our 1.63 cents-per-point Hyatt valuation, a Category 4 redemption is roughly $195 to $295 of value per award. Five awards used well clear $1,000.
Now the catch worth planning around: June 30, 2027. Awards from a March stay post by mid-April, which leaves about ten weeks to use as many as five free nights. If your year has no obvious follow-up trip before July, earning the maximum just donates awards back to Hyatt. Two realistic plays: aim the awards at a shoulder-season trip in April-June 2027, or treat the cap as decoration and be happy with one or two.
The participating list spans Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America, and it is broader than the usual promo list. The all-inclusive families are on it (Dreams, Secrets, Breathless, Hyatt Ziva and Zilara, Hyatt Vivid, Bahia Principe), and so are properties like Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol, Alila Mayakoba, Andaz Costa Rica, Grand Hyatt Baha Mar, Grand Hyatt Grand Cayman, Hyatt Regency Aruba, and Park Hyatt St. Kitts. Check your specific hotel before booking; the offer only counts properties on that list, and Hyatt notes a property must still be participating in World of Hyatt at the time of your stay.
World of Hyatt runs a separate, permanent program called Brand Explorer: one Category 1-4 Free Night Award for every five Hyatt brands you stay at for the first time, measured over the life of your membership, no credit card required. We took it apart in our Brand Explorer breakdown.
The participating list for this winter offer is unusually brand-diverse: Dreams, Secrets, Breathless, Hyatt Ziva, Hyatt Zilara, Hyatt Vivid, Bahia Principe, Alila, Park Hyatt, Andaz, Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Hyatt Centric, and more. If you pick a brand you have never stayed with, the same 3-night stay works two counters at once: it earns this offer's free night AND ticks one of the five brands toward a Brand Explorer award. Split a 6-night trip across two new-to-you brands and you leave with two of this offer's free nights plus two brand ticks.
Check your Brand Explorer tracker in the Hyatt app before booking; plenty of members are already sitting at three or four brands, and one deliberate resort choice this winter could finish the set.
Since these are paid nights at Hyatt resorts, the companion question is which points to bring. Chase points transfer to World of Hyatt at 1:1 on the Sapphire Reserve, and at 4:3 on the Sapphire Preferred and Ink Business Preferred (1,000 Chase points become 750 Hyatt points; already in effect for Preferred cardmembers who applied on or after June 15, 2026, and from October 1, 2026 for everyone else, per Chase's announcement). The full breakdown is in Best Chase Cards for Hyatt Redemptions — and remember the offer's own definition above before paying a whole stay in points.
Yes. Hyatt's terms count only eligible nights "completed after registration" and within the January 1 - March 31, 2027 window. Registration is open through September 30, 2026 and costs nothing.
Yes. One Category 1-4 Free Night Award per 3 eligible nights, up to 5 awards. That maximum takes 15 eligible nights during the three-month window.
Hyatt describes them as "valid at Category 1-4 Hyatt hotels and resorts," anywhere Hyatt has them, not just Latin America. They must be redeemed by June 30, 2027.
No. The offer's terms require a free World of Hyatt membership in good standing and registration before your stay — nothing about holding any card. The same is true of Brand Explorer.
The participating list includes all-inclusive brands like Dreams, Secrets, Breathless, and Hyatt Ziva/Zilara. Earning depends on the property being on Hyatt's list and your night meeting the eligible-night definition quoted above.
Offer terms, dates, and quotes read from Hyatt's offer page and participating-resorts page on August 19, 2026. Award-chart figures and point valuations per our World of Hyatt guide (chart as of the May 20, 2026 change; valuation 1.63 cents per point). Transfer ratios per Chase's June 15, 2026 announcement, re-verified August 12, 2026. Treat those dates as the as-of.
