A complete notice is investigated and answered within the timeline set out on the page. Material we remove is taken down and the person who provided it is notified, so they can decide whether to file a counter-notice.

A counter-notice has its own required elements, also listed on the page. Accounts that infringe repeatedly are terminated.

Accuracy matters: a notice sent in bad faith, or one that misrepresents that material is infringing, can carry legal consequences for the sender.
