This offer ended on October 26, 2026. The article stays up as a record of what the offer was and how it worked; the numbers below are as they stood while it ran.
Checked Thursday, October 15, 2026. The Hyatt rules below are Hyatt's own text from its World of Hyatt terms and points pages; Hyatt's site didn't load for us today, so where its rules may have changed today, we say so. The EVA Air details are from EVA's own promotion page.
The short version: World of Hyatt points don't have to stay in the family. Hyatt's terms let a member combine points with "one other specifically designated Member," and its points page says you can combine "with any World of Hyatt member." Hyatt said in February that online points sharing was coming "later this year." The family rule is on the Chase side: Chase points can only go to your own Hyatt account or to one household member who's an authorized user on your card. Separately, EVA Air is selling anniversary fares from Dallas-Fort Worth to Asia through Taipei, ticketed by Monday, October 26.
Anyone with a World of Hyatt account. Hyatt's program terms say: "A Member may combine points from their account with those of one other specifically designated Member." Its points page puts it more plainly: "Combine your points with any World of Hyatt member to redeem an award." Neither says the other member has to be a relative or live at the same address.
The limits in Hyatt's terms as we could read them:
On February 25, 2026, Hyatt announced: "Later this year, members will be able to share points digitally, making it easier than ever to help a loved one begin their next adventure." Other outlets report the online version went live today, with new limits. Hyatt's own pages didn't load for us today, so we're not printing limits we haven't read at the source. We'll add the online rules, including any minimums and yearly caps, as soon as we can read them on hyatt.com.
If the points start as Chase Ultimate Rewards, Chase decides where they can go first. Chase's Sapphire Preferred rewards agreement lets you transfer only to frequent-traveler accounts "belonging to you or one additional household member who is listed on your account as an authorized user," and the first authorized user you transfer to becomes the only one who can receive transfers. Chase also says the name on your Chase account "needs to match the name" on the partner account you transfer to.
So the order for a family pooling points at Hyatt is: Chase points to your own Hyatt account (or your one authorized-user household member's), then Hyatt's combining rule to move them to the member who's booking. For which Chase cards transfer to Hyatt at what ratio, see our guide to Chase cards for Hyatt.
You don't always need to move points at all. Hyatt's award FAQ says Free Night Awards, certain Room Upgrade Awards, Points + Cash Awards and Guest of Honor Awards "are eligible to be booked in the name of another person," and a Guest of Honor Award can be gifted to another World of Hyatt member. One warning from the same page: "An award can only be gifted one time and cannot be transferred back."
Two more rules worth knowing: Hyatt lets you buy points for another member only after 60 days of membership, and an account inactive for 24 straight months loses its points. More on how Hyatt points are worth using is in our World of Hyatt guide.
EVA Air's Dallas-Fort Worth to Taipei route turned one, and EVA is marking it with an anniversary discount on fares from DFW to Asia through Taipei. From EVA's promotion page:
The fine print, from the same page: cash plus miles bookings don't qualify, open-jaw and multi-city itineraries don't qualify, and neither do stopovers longer than 24 hours. The discount "applies to airfare only," so fuel surcharges and taxes are extra, and EVA adds a "Booking Service Charge: Standard USD 33 per ticket." Changes and refunds carry penalties. EVA's page doesn't print the fares or the size of the discount, so check the price on evaair.com for your dates.
