Checked September 25, 2026, against Bilt's October 2026 Rent Day terms, Bilt's help pages, Hilton's member benefits page, Bilt's newsroom post announcing Amtrak, and Amtrak's Bilt page. The screenshots below come from those pages. Point values are our own valuations as of July 7, 2026.
TL;DR
- Rent Day is Thursday, October 1, 2026. Two transfer bonuses run that day, and both depend on your Bilt tier.
- The best thing in it is instant Hilton Diamond, good through December 31, 2026. Bilt Platinum members get it with any Hilton transfer that day, from 1,000 Bilt points. Bilt Gold members can get it too by paying $200 of Bilt Cash to move up one tier. Silver and Blue can't reach Diamond: one tier up takes Silver to instant Hilton Gold.
- Hilton, normally 1:1, gets a 75% to 175% bonus by tier, or 200% for Platinum with the paid buy-up. 1,000 Bilt points become 1,750 to 2,750 Hilton points.
- Is the Hilton transfer worth it for the points? Only for a booking you can name. At our everyday Hilton value, 1,000 Bilt points sent to Hilton that day buy $7 to $11 of hotel. The same points sent to Hyatt on any day are worth about $16. The break-even rule is below.
- Amtrak, Bilt's newest partner since September 23, normally takes 2 Bilt points for 1 Amtrak point. On October 1 it gets a 25% to 100% bonus (125% for Platinum with a $400 buy-up), so 1,000 Bilt points become 625 to 1,000 Amtrak points instead of 500.
- Bilt cards also earn double points that day, up to 1,000 bonus points. Transfers can't be undone.
Three months of Hilton Diamond: free at Bilt Platinum, $200 at Bilt Gold
The three catches, answered below:
- It's short. Instant Diamond ends December 31, 2026. Keeping it longer takes a nights challenge (details in the list under the table).
- Not everyone can get there. The buy-up moves you up one Bilt tier, not two, so Silver stops at Hilton Gold.
- The points bonus is weaker than it looks. Hilton points are cheap. The section "Is the Hilton transfer worth it?" below has the break-even at every tier, and the one kind of night where Hilton still wins.

- What it takes: one Hilton transfer during the Rent Day window. The minimum is 1,000 Bilt points (2,000 on Blue). At Platinum, 1,000 Bilt points become 2,750 Hilton points and bring Diamond with them. At Gold, the same transfer plus $200 of Bilt Cash does the same.
- The buy-up moves you into the next row, status included, but only one row. Silver buying up lands on Gold's row: instant Hilton Gold, not Diamond.
- How long it lasts: instant status runs through December 31, 2026, so about three months. Stay 12 nights with check-out by December 31, 2026, and Diamond runs through March 2028. Most people won't, so pay for Diamond only if you already have Hilton stays planned before New Year's. If your Bilt Cash would expire on December 31 anyway, it costs you less.
- What it normally takes: Hilton's own page says Diamond takes 50 nights, 25 stays or $11,500 of spending at Hilton. Gold takes 25 nights, 15 stays or $6,000.
- What Diamond adds over Gold, per Hilton's benefits page: executive lounge access, space-available upgrades up to a one-bedroom suite (Gold's stop at Executive Floor rooms), premium WiFi, a 48-hour room guarantee, and a 100% points bonus on stays instead of Gold's 80%. Gold's daily food and beverage credit or breakfast carries over.
- Check the price in your app. Bilt's October terms print $400 for the buy-up in both the Hilton and Amtrak sections. The Hilton buy-up is being offered at $200 of Bilt Cash and the Amtrak one at $400, and Bilt's help page says buy-up pricing changes.
We hold Bilt Gold through the Bilt Palladium card, so for us Diamond costs $200 of Bilt Cash plus a 1,000-point transfer.

Rules that apply to both:
- Your tier at the moment you transfer sets the bonus. Bilt warns that new activity can take 96 hours or more to show up in your status, so don't count on a tier you are about to reach.
- Each bonus covers the first 100,000 Bilt points you move to that partner. Anything above that converts at the normal rate.
- There is no "Platinum Plus" status. Bilt's status program has four tiers: Blue, Silver, Gold and Platinum. The top row in Bilt's tables is a Platinum member who pays for the buy-up.
- What Bilt Cash is: Bilt's dollar-for-dollar credit, separate from Bilt points. Every member earns $50 of it for each 25,000 Bilt points earned toward status, so $200 is what 100,000 status points earn. It can't be transferred to airlines or hotels, and it expires at the end of the year except for $100 that rolls over.
- Is the Hilton buy-up worth it for the points alone? One row adds 25 to 50 percentage points. On a full 100,000-point transfer that is 25,000 to 50,000 extra Hilton points, $100 to $200 at our value, for $200 of Bilt Cash. For a Gold member, Diamond is the real reason to pay it. And Bilt Cash you won't use before it expires on December 31 costs you less than its face value.
Hilton: up to 175% (200% with the buy-up), plus instant status
The Hilton bonus runs from 12:00 am ET on October 1 to 2:59 am ET on October 2, the same close as 11:59 pm PT. Transfers can take up to 48 hours.

- How long the status lasts: instant status runs through December 31, 2026. Finish the nights, with check-out by December 31, 2026, and the status runs through March 2028.
- What the status gives, per Hilton's benefits page:
- Silver: the fifth night free on reward stays.
- Gold: that, plus space-available upgrades and a daily food and beverage credit at select brands in the US, or continental breakfast at select brands outside the US.
- Diamond: all of that plus executive lounge access and a 48-hour room guarantee.
- If you already hold Hilton Gold, instant Silver or Gold adds nothing. What moves you up is instant Diamond at Bilt Platinum, or the 12-night Diamond challenge at Bilt Gold.

Is the Hilton transfer worth it?
Hilton points are cheap points. Our everyday value for one is 0.4 cents, which is why 175% sounds bigger than it is. The fair comparison is what else the same Bilt points could do. Our value for a World of Hyatt point is 1.63 cents, and Bilt moves points to Hyatt 1:1 on any day. Here is 1,000 Bilt points both ways:

The same 1,000 Bilt points sent to Hyatt are worth about $16.30 by our value.
So the answer depends on the booking, not the bonus:
- At an average Hilton redemption, it doesn't beat Hyatt. Even a Platinum member who pays for the buy-up gets $12 of Hilton per 1,000 Bilt points, against about $16 at Hyatt.
- At a high-cash-rate night, it does. Our night at a Small Luxury Hotels property on Lake Como came to 0.92 cents per Hilton point. At that rate, Bilt Gold's 150% turns 1,000 Bilt points into about $23 of hotel, well above Hyatt.
- Five-night stays help. With the fifth night free, you pay points for four nights and get five. That lifts your value per point by a quarter, so 0.4 cents becomes 0.5.
- The status can be the point. If Diamond through December is what you want, the transfer can be the 1,000-point minimum. Then the points question barely matters.
The rule: before you transfer, divide the room's cash price by its points price. That gives you cents per point (how that division works). If the answer is above the break-even for your tier in the table, send the points to Hilton. If it isn't, keep them in Bilt or look at Hyatt. Transfer only the points that booking needs.
Amtrak: up to 100% (125% with the buy-up) on Bilt's new partner
Amtrak joined Bilt on September 23 at 2:1: two Bilt points become one Amtrak Guest Rewards point. The October 1 bonus runs from 12:00 am ET to 11:59 pm PT.

Amtrak's Bilt page gives starting prices for three things:
- Train travel: from 400 Amtrak points, or 100 with Points & Cash.
- A single-visit Metropolitan Lounge pass: from 1,500. The lounges are in New York, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Portland and Washington.
- A one-class upgrade: from 2,500. That takes you from Coach to Business, or from Acela Business to Acela First.
Transfers move in 1,000-point steps, so here is what the lounge pass and the upgrade take in Bilt points:

Train tickets don't have one fixed price in points; Amtrak only says rewards start at 400. Look up your actual train in points on amtrak.com before you move anything.

How Bilt to Amtrak works on any day
- Transfer sizes: a minimum of 1,000 Bilt points (2,000 on Blue), in steps of 1,000.
- Accounts: Amtrak Guest Rewards is free to join. Link it to Bilt before your first transfer; the names on both accounts have to match.
- Where to go: in the Bilt app, Rewards, then Transfer, then Rail, then Amtrak Guest Rewards.
- Timing: usually immediate, up to 72 hours. A transfer can't be reversed.

Double points on Bilt cards

- The cap is on the bonus. Past it, you earn the card's normal rate for the rest of the day.
- What doesn't count: rent and mortgage payments made through Bilt, tax payments, and a list of third-party payment setups spelled out in the terms. Apple Pay counts.
- When a purchase counts: the day the merchant submits the charge. A charge submitted on October 2 misses out.
- When the points arrive: bonus points post within seven days.

Also in the October terms
- Groceries, by invitation only: if Bilt emailed you, Trader Joe's and Whole Foods earn an extra 5 points per $1 on your Bilt card from 9:00 am ET September 25 to 11:59 pm ET September 30, 2026, up to 1,000 bonus points. That is $200 of groceries. No email means no offer.
- In New York: a Bilt Collection pop-up at 837 Washington Street on October 1, from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm ET.
- Everything else: Barry's and SoulCycle Rent Day classes, sweepstakes and a John Legend private-show contest, in the Rent Day tab of the Bilt app.
Our checklist for Thursday
- Check your Bilt tier in the app today, not on Thursday morning.
- Link your Hilton Honors and Amtrak Guest Rewards accounts before October 1.
- Pick the booking first. For Hilton, divide the cash price by the points price and compare it with your tier's break-even.
- Move only what that booking needs, in 1,000-point steps. Each bonus stops at 100,000 Bilt points.
- Put purchases you were making anyway on your Bilt card that day, up to the 1,000 bonus points.
