Rove added Copa Airlines ConnectMiles as its 21st transfer partner with a 40% launch bonus: transfers completed by September 30, 2026 at 11:59pm ET turn 1,000 Rove Miles into 1,400 ConnectMiles. Copa is Star Alliance, its published partner chart prices Europe business at 70,000 one-way, and it has not confirmed that chart since 2015. What to check before moving anything.
Rove added a 21st transfer partner on August 31: Copa Airlines ConnectMiles. It came with a launch bonus, in Rove's words: "Through September 30, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET, every 1,000 Rove Miles you transfer will become 1,400 ConnectMiles." The ratio underneath is 1:1, so the 40% is pure bonus.
This is worth a careful read rather than a reflex transfer, because Copa's program has one unusually strong feature and one thing it will not let us confirm.
Rove's examples: 10,000 becomes 14,000, 25,000 becomes 35,000, 50,000 becomes 70,000.
ConnectMiles is a Star Alliance program. Copa's site: "ConnectMiles offers Saver Awards when flying on any Star Alliance partner," with "prices determined by travel regions." That means United, Lufthansa, ANA, Turkish, Swiss and the rest of the alliance are bookable with ConnectMiles, and region pricing is the reason people care.
Copa publishes a partner award chart, and here is the part we have to say plainly. The chart is a PDF on copaair.com that states "Mileage amounts for Star Awards effective starting July 1, 2015," was last printed in April 2024, and is not linked from Copa's current Star Alliance page. Copa re-priced its own flights for tickets issued from October 20, 2025 and says nothing about whether partner prices moved. So the numbers below are what Copa has published, not what we can confirm is current.

If those prices hold, the bonus does real work. A 70,000-mile business-class seat to Europe costs 50,000 Rove Miles with the bonus. Japan in business is about 53,600 Rove Miles. The test is simple: log in to ConnectMiles, price the exact flight, and only then transfer.
These are current, from Copa's award-ticket-rules page, per passenger, for international awards at the base membership tier: booking service fee $30, late booking within 7 days $75, changes $75 (more than 7 days out) or $100 (within 7 days), cancel and redeposit $100 or $150 on the same split. Silver members lose most of those; Gold, Platinum and Presidential members pay none. Star Alliance changes must be made at least 24 hours before departure.
Copa also says every member pays "all applicable federal inspection fees, terminal facility fees, customs and immigration fees" and "any other fees or surcharges applicable to award travel." On carrier surcharges specifically, Copa publishes no statement either way, so we are not going to tell you there are none. Price the taxes on the booking screen.
Copa's terms: "Miles accrued will expire on the last day of the twenty-fourth (24th) month following the last Qualifying Account Activity in the Member's account." Any activity resets the clock. Do not park miles here without a plan.
Transfer now if you have a specific Star Alliance seat priced in ConnectMiles and the price beats what your Rove Miles buy elsewhere. Rove also transfers 1:1 to Aeroplan and Turkish Miles&Smiles, both Star Alliance, so price the same seat in those before you commit to Copa.
Skip if you are moving miles because 40% sounds good. The bonus does not fix an award that is not there, the transfer cannot be undone, and the chart you would be relying on is one Copa has not confirmed since 2015.
