What Points Are Worth: Our Cents-Per-Point Values, With Dates

Our value for every major points and miles program, how we reached it, and the day we last checked it. Convert one program's points to dollars.

What a point or mile is worth at the values RewardsGuru.club uses in every article and tool, one program at a time: bank points (Chase Ultimate Rewards, Amex Membership Rewards, Citi ThankYou, Capital One, Bilt and others), airline miles and hotel points. Each value is shown in cents per point and as the dollars 1,000 points are worth, with how we reached it and the day we last checked it. A calculator converts one program's points to dollars; points from different programs are never added together, because they are not the same money.

How it works

  1. Find the program in the table, or pick it in the calculator and type your balance.
  2. Read the value as an estimate of a typical good redemption, not a price anyone guarantees.
  3. Test your own booking by dividing the cash price by the points price. If you get more cents per point than our value, that award beats our average.

Common questions

Where do these values come from?

Bank points are valued from what their airline and hotel transfer partners are worth; airline and hotel points from typical award prices; a few fixed-value programs from the issuer's own stated redemption rate. Each row says which, and when we last checked it.

Why is my redemption worth more or less?

Award prices vary by route, date and property. The table is an average for planning; your own booking is the number that counts.

Can I add up points from different programs?

No. Each program's points buy different things at different rates, so the only fair common unit is dollars, one program at a time.
