Cathay Pacific's October offer: PPCXWEST takes USD68 off flights from San Francisco, Los Angeles and Seattle, PPCXEAST USD48 off from New York, Boston, Dallas and Chicago, when you pay with PayPal. Book by October 26, 2026 for travel January 7 to May 31, 2027. The cheapest Cathay fares we found for those dates, and what to pay with.
Codes and dates are from Cathay Pacific's October 7, 2026 eNews email. Fares were read on Cathay's own site and on Google Flights on October 6, 2026, for the specific dates shown; airfares move daily, so treat them as examples of what the code is worth, not a guarantee.
Cathay Pacific's October newsletter carries two promotion codes for people who pay with PayPal, and they are tied to where you fly from:
Both are for bookings made by October 26, 2026, for travel between January 7 and May 31, 2027, and the email's condition is that you pay with PayPal at checkout. The email is Cathay's own October eNews, so the codes are first-party; its footnote terms govern cabin and fare eligibility, and the email doesn't say whether one-way fares qualify, so the promotion-code field at checkout is the final word on whether your fare takes it. Enter the code in the "Add a promotion code" field on Cathay's booking page before you search; PayPal is one of the payment options on the final step.
$68 off a transpacific ticket is a nudge, not a sale: on the fares below it is 5% to 8%. The reason to care is that it stacks on Cathay's lowest published fares, which are already the cheapest way to fly a full-service airline to most of Southeast Asia this winter. These are the 13 round-trip economy fares Google Flights showed for Cathay Pacific on October 6, one adult, taxes included, for a March 3 to 14, 2027 trip unless noted, and what they come to with the code:
| Route | Fare we saw | Code | After the code |
|---|---|---|---|
| Los Angeles to Bangkok (Feb 10 to 21, one stop in Hong Kong) | $865 | PPCXWEST | $797 |
| Seattle to Ho Chi Minh City (one stop) | $847 | PPCXWEST | $779 |
| Seattle to Bangkok (one stop) | $911 | PPCXWEST | $843 |
| Los Angeles to Manila (one stop) | $914 | PPCXWEST | $846 |
| San Francisco to Manila (one stop) | $916 | PPCXWEST | $848 |
| Los Angeles to Singapore (one stop) | $927 | PPCXWEST | $859 |
| Los Angeles to Bali (one stop) | $956 | PPCXWEST | $888 |
| Seattle to Hong Kong (Feb 24 to Mar 7, nonstop) | $1,063 | PPCXWEST | $995 |
| Los Angeles to Hong Kong (nonstop) | $1,318 | PPCXWEST | $1,250 |
| New York to Hong Kong (Feb 10 to 21, nonstop) | $1,110 | PPCXEAST | $1,062 |
| New York to Singapore (one stop) | $1,119 | PPCXEAST | $1,071 |
| Dallas to Hong Kong (Mar 10 to 21, nonstop) | $1,196 | PPCXEAST | $1,148 |
| Chicago to Hong Kong (Mar 10 to 21, nonstop) | $1,437 | PPCXEAST | $1,389 |
Every "one stop" above connects in Hong Kong on Cathay metal both ways. The pattern is the one Cathay flyers know: the Southeast Asia connections from the West Coast price well under the nonstop to Hong Kong itself, so Bangkok, Saigon, Manila and Singapore are where the code lands on an already-cheap ticket.
Cathay's US offers page lists a "from" fare for each origin it flies; these are its own lowest published economy fares across all dates as of October 6, so some fall before the January 7 travel window and are listed here for the comparison, not the code:
Cathay's route pages break those down by month. For Los Angeles to Hong Kong the month-by-month low runs USD930 in October, 1,140 in November and 1,268 in December and January, which is why the March fare in the table is where it is: the window the code covers is not the cheap end of Cathay's calendar, and the code is partly there to move it.
The offer requires PayPal, and PayPal lets you fund the purchase with any card in your wallet, so the question is which card. Two things to know before you pick:
If your account shows a different PayPal offer from Cathay, use whatever the page you're logged into says; these codes are the ones in the October 7 US email, and Cathay's own terms govern eligibility, cabin and fare rules.
