250,000 Asia Miles for $3,990: Worth It? 1.6 Cents a Mile

ASMALLWORLD Prestige with 250,000 Cathay Asia Miles is $3,990, not $5,790, through Nov. 3, 2026: about 1.6 cents a mile, under the bank points it would take.

Read on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, on ASMALLWORLD's offer page and on Cathay Pacific's own ASMALLWORLD partner page. The offer price ends with November 3; ASMALLWORLD's countdown runs out at 6:00 a.m. Eastern on Wednesday, November 4.

The short version: ASMALLWORLD's Prestige membership comes with 250,000 Cathay Pacific Asia Miles, and through November 3, 2026 it costs $3,990 instead of $5,790. That is about 1.6 cents a mile. Cathay lists ASMALLWORLD on its own partner page with the same two prices. At our value of 1.15 cents, the miles alone are worth about $2,875. But every bank that transfers to Cathay would take points worth more than $3,990 at our values to make the same 250,000 Asia Miles, from $4,000 at Wells Fargo to $5,938 at Amex. The membership also starts a 90-day Hilton Honors Diamond trial and a year of GHA DISCOVERY Titanium, Jumeirah One Gold and SIXT Platinum status.

The offer, in Cathay's and ASMALLWORLD's words

Cathay's ASMALLWORLD partner page lists the regular price: "USD5,790 = ASMALLWORLD Prestige Membership with 250,000 Asia Miles and exclusive travel benefits from trusted partners." Its highlights section carries the sale: "a special offer on an ASMALLWORLD Prestige membership for USD3,990 (usually USD5,790)... Book by 3 November 2026 to enjoy the offer."

Cathay Pacific's ASMALLWORLD partner page, read November 3, 2026: USD5,790 = ASMALLWORLD Prestige Membership with 250,000 Asia Miles and exclusive travel benefits from trusted partners

Cathay Pacific's highlights for the same partner, read November 3, 2026: Advantage membership USD590, usually USD790, with 35,000 Asia Miles, and Prestige membership USD3,990, usually USD5,790, with 250,000 Asia Miles, both "Book by 3 November 2026"

ASMALLWORLD's own offer page shows the same $3,990 against $5,790, with a countdown. From its FAQ:

ASMALLWORLD's offer page, read November 3, 2026 at about 12:36 p.m. Central: 250,000 Cathay Pacific Asia Miles, Prestige Membership, promotional price $3,990, struck-through $5,790, offer ends in 16 hours

What 1.6 cents a mile means

$3,990 divided by 250,000 is about 1.6 cents a mile. At the usual $5,790 it would be about 2.3 cents. The smaller Advantage membership, $590 instead of $790 for 35,000 Asia Miles, works out to about 1.7 cents.

We value an Asia Mile at 1.15 cents, so 250,000 of them are worth about $2,875 at our value. The gap, about $1,115, is what the membership perks and the bookings you make with the miles have to cover.

The rule for any award: at this price, an award beats paying cash when the cash fare, minus the taxes and charges you'd pay on the award anyway, divided by the miles it takes, comes to more than 1.6 cents.

Against the bank points it replaces

Here is what 250,000 Asia Miles would take from the five bank programs we value that transfer to Cathay:

Bank Ratio to Asia Miles Points for 250,000 Asia Miles Worth at our values
Wells Fargo 1:1 250,000 $4,000
Citi ThankYou, on cards that transfer 1:1, with the 10% bonus through November 14 1:1, plus 10% 228,000 $4,104
Capital One 1:1 250,000 $4,625
Bilt 1:1 250,000 $5,000
Amex Membership Rewards 5:4 312,500 $5,938

Our values behind those numbers: a Wells Fargo point at 1.6 cents, a Citi point at 1.8, a Capital One mile at 1.85, an Amex point at 1.9 and a Bilt point at 2 cents. Amex's own transfer page shows the 5:4 ratio as 1,000 points to 800 Asia Miles. Citi's 10% bonus and every other bonus running this month are in our November transfer bonuses.

What the math says: at our values, every bank route to 250,000 Asia Miles uses points worth more than $3,990. Wells Fargo's is the closest, $10 more, and Amex's is the furthest, about $1,948 more. Paying cash keeps those points free for something else; transferring keeps the $3,990.

What a business seat costs in cash

Google Flights showed all three of Cathay Pacific's New York JFK to Hong Kong nonstops at $4,175 one way in business for Wednesday, January 13, 2027, taxes included. Cathay's economy fares to Asia from our October check are in our look at Cathay's PayPal codes.

Google Flights, read November 3, 2026: one way, business, New York JFK to Hong Kong, Wednesday, January 13, 2027, three Cathay Pacific nonstops at $4,175 each

Cathay doesn't publish its standard award prices on a public chart; its flight award chart page sends you to the signed-in award search and says "Required Asia Miles do not include fuel surcharges and taxes." The 1.6-cent rule above is the test for any seat that search shows: a $4,175 fare clears it at any award price up to about 260,000 miles before taxes, so the question is how many seats the 250,000 miles cover, and that is in your own search.

The membership perks, as listed

ASMALLWORLD's FAQ: "Most included partner benefits are valid for one year from activation. This includes GHA DISCOVERY Titanium Status, Jumeirah One Gold Status, SIXT Platinum Status, ASMALLWORLD Premium Membership, The Bicester Collection Level 3 Status, and CRURATED Membership."

And on Hilton: "Hilton Honors Diamond Status Match starts as a 90-day trial. Complete 10 qualifying nights during the trial to keep Diamond status through the following year, or 5 qualifying nights to keep Gold status."
