This offer ended on October 31, 2026. Flying Blue's October 2026 Promo Rewards, and the Amex 25% and Rove 40% transfer bonuses, ended October 31, 2026. Flying Blue releases new Promo Rewards on the first day of each month; the division rule in this article applies to any month's list.

Read October 30, 2026 on Flying Blue's own Promo Rewards page (signed out), Rove's bonus announcement, and Google Flights for the cash fares. The Amex bonus is as Flying Blue's partner page listed it on October 15, 2026. Facts are as of October 30, 2026.

Flying Blue's October Promo Rewards, the monthly list of Air France and KLM award seats at 25% off, can be booked through Saturday, October 31, for travel until March 31, 2027. Two transfer bonuses into Flying Blue end the same day: Amex's 25% and Rove's 40%. Most people skip the list because the headline rows are Paris to Oslo for 6,000 miles. The list also has seven North American cities to Europe at 18,750 miles one way in economy, and with the Amex bonus that seat costs 15,000 points.

The short version:

What's on the October list

Flying Blue's page, read October 30, shows every row at -25%. The long-haul rows are priced for flights to or from Europe on Air France and KLM, including a connection within Europe through Paris or Amsterdam.

The math: 18,750 miles against two cash fares

We value Flying Blue miles at 1.4 cents, so an 18,750-mile award is worth $262.50 of miles before taxes. The award beats cash only when the cash fare for the same seat, minus the award's taxes and surcharges, is above that. The test is one division: cash fare minus award taxes, divided by miles. Above 1.4 cents, use the miles. Below it, pay cash and keep the miles.

We ran Boston to Paris, which is on the list at 18,750 miles, on Google Flights for one adult, one way, economy, prices as shown on October 30:

Date Air France nonstop, cash 18,750-mile award clears 1.4 cents if its taxes are under Verdict
Saturday, December 19, 2026 $1,084 $821 Use the miles, if a promo seat is open
Tuesday, January 19, 2027 $310 $47.50 Pay cash

Google Flights, read October 30, 2026: Boston to Paris one way on Saturday, December 19, 2026, cheapest fare from $641, nonstops from $939

Google Flights, read October 30, 2026: Boston to Paris one way on Tuesday, January 19, 2027, nonstops at $300 and $310

Flying Blue adds airport taxes and carrier surcharges to every award, and it shows them only when you price the seat signed in. On a transatlantic Air France award they are not $47. So the January seat is a cash seat, and the December seat is where the promo earns its name. Peak dates, school holidays and the weeks before Christmas are where a 25% discount on miles meets a cash fare that has doubled or tripled.

The two bonuses that end the same day

Amex Membership Rewards, 25%. Flying Blue's partner page, read October 15, listed a 25% bonus for eligible US card members on points transferred October 1 to 31, 2026. At 1:1 plus 25%, 15,000 points become 18,750 miles, the exact price of the economy rows above. At our 1.4-cent Flying Blue value, 1,000 Amex points sent now are worth $17.50 there, against $16.50 if the same 1,000 points went to Qatar Airways at 1:1 with no bonus, the strongest everyday alternative on our chart. Our October 15 roundup priced this bonus against the others running that week. Amex shows the bonus on your own transfer page; check it there before you move points.

Rove Miles, 40%. Rove's announcement says the bonus runs "From October 1, 2026 at 6:00 a.m. EDT through October 31, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. EDT," and "every 1,000 Rove Miles you transfer becomes 1,400 Flying Blue miles." That makes the 18,750-mile seat about 13,400 Rove Miles. Rove is a transfer program, not a card: you earn Rove Miles by booking travel through it, and we have a referral link that may pay us a bonus if you join through it.

No bonus, 1:1: Chase Ultimate Rewards, Capital One, Bilt and Wells Fargo. Citi ThankYou also transfers to Flying Blue. Marriott Bonvoy transfers at 3:1, which is 0.47 cents of Flying Blue value per Marriott point and never the right move for this list.

The catches

How to do it

  1. Price the cash fare for your exact date first, one way, one adult, on Google Flights or Air France's site, and write it down.
  2. Sign in to Flying Blue and price the award, with its taxes, on Air France's "Use your Miles" tab or KLM's booking tool. If the route isn't at the promo price on your date, stop. Our own economy award to Paris walks through a booking step by step.
  3. Divide: cash fare minus taxes, divided by miles. Above 1.4 cents, continue. Below it, pay cash.
  4. Transfer only what you need, then book. Amex's 25% and Rove's 40% both end October 31. If you already hold Flying Blue miles, skip the transfer and book.
  5. Check again on November 1 for the new list. We'll post the November rows and what changed in this article.
