Rakuten is paying 30% cash back at Skechers, ten times the everyday 3%, and Skechers' own Friends & Family sale takes 20% off with code SKXPLUS through August 25. Stacked, a $100 order lands near $56. The catch is in the terms: the marketing says sitewide, the terms say select regular priced items. Third Skechers elevation in six weeks.
The short version: Two separate offers land on the same Skechers order right now. Skechers is running a Skechers Plus Friends & Family sale, 20% off with code SKXPLUS, valid 8/21/26 through 8/25/26 per its own terms. Rakuten is paying 30% cash back, ten times the everyday 3%. Stack them and a $100 order costs about $56 after the discount and the cash back. Read the exclusions first, because "sitewide" is doing some work in the marketing.
Rakuten is at 30% cash back on Skechers. The everyday rate is 3%, so this is ten times the usual payout. We confirmed it on Rakuten's own store page on August 23, 2026, and our tracker's scrape that morning shows the same numbers.
If it feels like you have seen this before, you have. This is the third time in six weeks.
| Date | Rakuten rate | Normal rate |
|---|---|---|
| July 18, 2026 | 25% | 3% |
| August 11, 2026 | 32% | 3% |
| August 23, 2026 | 30% | 3% |
July 18 was the finale of Rakuten's Big Deal Reveal week, covered in our roundup of that event. August 11 showed up in our deal roundup that week. Today is the third.
The lasting takeaway is not "buy shoes today." It is that Skechers swings between 3% and 30%, so buying at 3% leaves most of the money behind. Miss this one and another is coming.
Skechers is running a Friends & Family sale. The email creative and the sale page both say 20% off sitewide. The promo terms page says something narrower, and the terms are what the checkout enforces. Quoting it directly:
SKECHERS PLUS MEMBERS SAVE 20% OFF - ONLINE ONLY. *Offer valid 8/21/26 - 8/25/26 on select regular priced items at https://www.skechers.com. Must be logged into Skechers Plus account to qualify. Skechers Plus members use code: SKXPLUS at checkout. Valid online only and not valid at Skechers stores or at other stores and websites carrying Skechers products. Offer excludes website premieres, sale styles, select accessories, prior purchases, test styles, gift cards, and applicable taxes. Additional exclusions may apply.
Three things to pull out of that:
Assuming an item that qualifies for the code:
| Step | Amount |
|---|---|
| List price | $100.00 |
| Less 20% with SKXPLUS | $80.00 paid |
| Rakuten 30% cash back on $80 | $24.00 back |
| Net cost | about $56 |
That is roughly 44% off a $100 pair, before your credit card earns anything.
One honest caveat on that table: Rakuten does not spell out on the store page whether it pays on the pre-discount or post-discount amount. Portals normally pay on what you are actually charged, so the math above uses the $80. If Rakuten happens to pay on the full $100 you get $30 instead of $24, which only makes this better. We would rather show you the conservative number.
If your Rakuten account is linked to American Express Membership Rewards, Rakuten pays in points instead of cash: 1 point per dollar for every 1% of cash back. At 30% that is 30 points per dollar, so an $80 subtotal pays 2,400 Membership Rewards points.
Whether that beats $24 depends on what you do with them. Parked in the account they are worth roughly what the cash was. Moved to an airline partner for a trip you actually wanted, they can be worth more. What a point is actually worth covers how to value them without kidding yourself.
Bilt members can send the payout to Bilt points instead, though that needs Silver status or higher in Bilt's program.
On August 11, Rakuten's website listed Skechers at 3% at the same moment its app showed 32%. We logged it at the time. Today the two agree at 30%, but the habit is worth keeping: if one surface shows the boring rate, check the other before giving up.
Do not go hunting for other coupon codes in new tabs on the way. Our Rakuten stacking guide explains why detours break tracking, and which card to point at a purchase like this one. Codes found on third-party coupon sites are the usual culprit for a missing payout; SKXPLUS is different in that Rakuten is promoting this sale itself, but the safe sequence is still portal first, code at checkout.
Your credit card earns its normal rate on top of both offers. Portal cash back and card rewards have always stacked. Rakuten's own card adds an extra 4% on Rakuten purchases specifically, and it is running a $200 bonus for applications through August 25.
Rakuten publishes no end date on the Skechers page, and we are not going to invent one. What we can tell you is what we observed: both previous runs lasted a single day. Our assumption, stated as an assumption, is that this one is the same. The 20% code has the longer and firmer life of the two, running through August 25 per Skechers' terms.
Check the rate on the store page before you click through. The rate that pays is the one showing when you start your trip.
No. This is a discount on spending you had planned, not a reason to spend. Forty-four percent off shoes you did not need still means more than half the money left your account. If your cart was empty before you read this, close the tab. Another elevation is coming, and the table above is the evidence.
