Rakuten's NordVPN rate is 100% cash back today (usually 20%), NordPass and Coveron 95%. New customers, first payment only. Rakuten's terms and Coveron's prices.

Every Rakuten rate and term below was read on Monday, October 12, 2026, on rakuten.com's store pages for NordVPN, NordPass and Coveron. Rakuten prints no end time for these rates, so check that the store page still shows the raised rate before you buy. Coveron's prices are from its own pricing page the same morning.
The short version: Rakuten is paying 100% cash back on NordVPN today, against its usual 20%, and 95% on NordPass and on Coveron, the identity-protection service that used to be NordProtect (both usually 20%). All three pay on one thing only: the first payment of a new subscription, once per Rakuten member. Coveron bills a whole plan up front, so on its 2-year Full Protection plan, $263.76 today, 95% back is $250.57. The three are separate products, so each sign-up earns its own rate. What brings the cost back is the renewal.

Each store page says when the cash back lands: "Cash Back will be automatically added to your Rakuten account today" on NordVPN and Coveron, and "tomorrow" on NordPass. Coveron's page also spells out how the three relate: "Coveron, NordVPN, and NordPass are separate products. You are eligible to earn Cash Back on each product."

The terms on Rakuten's NordVPN page, word for word: "Cash Back is only available to new NordVPN customers. Cash Back can only be earned on the initial sign-up. Limited to one per Rakuten member. Cash Back is earned only on the NordVPN Basic plan portion of a bundled subscription of Plus, Complete or Prime plans. Cash Back is not available on NordPass, NordLocker, Incogni and Dedicated IP subscriptions, NordLayer, B2B orders or refunded orders. Cash Back is only available on orders completed through the NordVPN US site. All orders placed through other countries will void Cash Back."
Three things follow from that. The 100% is figured on the Basic plan: buy Plus, Complete or Prime and only the Basic portion of the price earns it, so a bigger bundle does not come back in full. The order has to go through NordVPN's US site. And under Special Terms: "Using coupon codes that are not listed on Rakuten will void Cash Back."
The two NordVPN offers Rakuten lists today are "Get 75% off + 3 months extra." and "Take care of your online security with next-gen antivirus." NordVPN's own pricing page did not load for us this morning, so we are not quoting its prices here; the total at NordVPN's checkout is the number the 100% applies to.
Rakuten's NordPass terms: "Cash Back is available on first time subscription sign ups only. Limited to one per Rakuten member. Cash Back is not available on NordVPN, NordLocker, Incogni and Dedicated IP subscriptions, B2B orders or refunded orders." And under Special Terms: "Use of coupons or promotional codes not listed on Rakuten may void Cash Back."
The NordPass offers Rakuten lists today: "Get 53% off Premium + 3 months free.", "Get Family Premium at 58% off + 3 months extra." and "Save 50% on the Password Manager." Cash back on NordPass posts tomorrow.
Coveron is the service that used to be NordProtect. Rakuten's terms: "Cash Back is only available for new users and on the first payment of a subscription plan. Limited to one per member. All Individual and Family subscription plans including Individual Scam Protection, Individual Identity Theft Protection, Individual Full Protection, Family Full Couple Protection, and Full Family Protection are fully eligible for cash back." Under Special Terms: "NordProtect is now Coveron. If you have already earned Cash Back with NordProtect, you are not eligible for Cash Back with Coveron."
Coveron bills the whole term at once. Its terms: "We will charge you for the upcoming subscription period in advance." So the first payment on a 2-year plan is the full two years, and that is the payment the 95% is on. Coveron's prices this morning, with 95% of each:

Coveron prints "Sales tax may apply" under each price, so your checkout total can differ from the list price. The monthly plans start at $12.49 a month for Scam Protection, and on those the 95% covers the first month only. Coveron also advertises a 30-day money-back guarantee; Rakuten's terms exclude refunded orders, so a refund takes the cash back with it.
From Coveron's terms on the same page: "Renewal prices may be higher than the introductory prices and are subject to change." Rakuten pays back the first payment only, on all three products, and the second payment is yours. If you only want the first term, set a reminder before the renewal date on the day you sign up.
If your Rakuten account pays out in Amex Membership Rewards, Rakuten shows the same rates as points: 100X on NordVPN and 95X on NordPass and Coveron, against 20X usually. Rakuten converts 1 point per cent of cash back, so 95% of Coveron's $263.76 Full Protection plan, $250.57, arrives as 25,057 Membership Rewards points, about $476 at the 1.9 cents we value a Membership Rewards point. If your account pays out in Bilt Points, Bilt converts 100 points per $1 of cash back at Silver, Gold and Platinum, and 50 at Blue. The payout method is a Rakuten account setting you choose before the cash back is paid.
