Wells Fargo's rewards lineup is small and easy to read. The Active Cash Card pays a flat 2% cash rewards on every purchase with no annual fee. The Autograph Card pays 3 points per dollar on restaurants, travel, gas, transit, streaming and phone plans, also with no fee. The Autograph Journey Card, at $95 a year, raises the travel side to 5 points per dollar on hotels and 4 on airfare. The Reflect Card earns nothing and exists for its long introductory APR period on purchases and balance transfers.
Wells Fargo Rewards points redeem at one cent each for statement credits and travel, and the Autograph cards can also move points to airline and hotel partners, which is where the Journey's 60,000-point welcome offer is usually worth more than its cash value. The Active Cash welcome offer is $100 after $500 of spending in the first three months, one of the lowest spending requirements on any cash-back bonus we track.
The practical pairing is an Active Cash for the 2% floor and an Autograph for the 3x categories, both fee-free. Every rate and bonus below comes from Wells Fargo's own product pages, read on the date shown on each card page.
